What Should I Wear to a Black Tie Event?

A Black Tie event is a standard dress code for any formal occasion, whether it be a wedding, prom, or ball. For most black-tie occasions, a standard five piece tuxedo shall suffice. This consists of a tuxedo jacket, tuxedo pants, a tuxedo shirt, a bow tie, and then either a cummerbund or a vest. The tuxedo can be either one, two, or three button. Double breasted tuxedos may be worn if the occasion suffices. During summer months, a white tuxedo may also be worn.

Differing from black tie, are events with a white tie dress code - this is the strictest of formal events, and a black tuxedo with tails in necessary. Follow these rules, and you'll celebrate even the most formal occasion in style.
